Faith, Hope, and Charity

GREETINGS!! I hope my last email didn't make me sound too miserable because I am so, so happy! We opened everything yesterday and it is amazing to me how everything that I was stressing and crying about last week doesn't even matter at all because everything came together so nicely and turned out so well! Even though things were far from perfect it doesn't matter because we had so much fun and seeing the faces of those we performed for made everything better!! I literally feel like a princess when I walk around town for Nauvoo Singers and it's wonderful. This week's biggest challenge came in our final choreographer Mick. He doesn't exactly teach, he just does it and expects you to follow along and pick it up. So at first we were all really overwhelmed, but I surprised myself when I switched into survival mode and actually learned really quickly (I was even to the point where people were asking ME questions about the dance!) with the Lord's help! ...

Growing with Gratitude

I am finally starting to feel like a missionary! We got to sing for some people this week, onsite missionaries and a couple visitors, as well as a member of the Quorum of the Seventy: Elder Zwick!! I realized how much I don't want to not be a missionary.... I've only been here barely over 2 weeks but I feel like it's been a couple months because so much happens in a day here. I am looking forward to meeting people and representing the gospel and Jesus Christ to help others know of the peace and truthfulness of the gospel!! My body is not doing so well unfortunately. This email will be short because I am having a lot of arm problems. But I will replace the lack of words with videos!! I've been really frustrated with myself because I have been struggling with dancing and fighting shin splints and a very tight hip flexer so I've been marking for days... But I've been able to recognize the blessings of humbling myself and have bonded with the sisters as I've acc...

A little lost (in the airport) and a lot of work

Hello and happy Mothers' Day!!!! I only have half an hour so I will try and do this as best as I can! Thank you for all of your emails and letters!!! They mean so much and I will try my best to respond!! GUYS. NAUVOO IS INCREDIBLE. The streets are so quiet but somehow it feels like a busy city. I can't believe I get to be here in this beautiful place for such a wonderful purpose. I have experienced more trials in the past week and three days that I have been here than I typically do in an entire semester at school. It's insane. But perhaps the Lord is trying to show me my weaknesses so he can strengthen me. But fortunately the incredible moments throughout our rehearsal process thus far have made up for the incredibly difficult times. I arrived at the very small Quincy, Illinois airport on the night of May 4th, after riding from St. Louis in a very small plane with three other passengers and the pilots. When we got to the airport everything was closing/already closed as the...

She will serve from May 2017-August 2017 in this capacity. If you would like to know more about her beliefs, please check out www.lds.org or mormon.org This blog is run by Casey's sister in law, Jessica. We, as the Greenwood Family, could not be more pleased with the choice that Casey has made to accept this call and use her talents to serve the Lord. We are proud of her and are excited to see her grow as she has experiences and learn...
