our director designated this week as "happy week," and boy what a happy week it was! there were several times this week that i just couldn't help but cry because of how happy i am here and with these people. this week God has really shown me that he is aware of me. i received promptings to ask some visitors and pageant core cast members some questions and little did they know that some of the things that they said were perfectly answering some of my prayers. there have been many tears shed this week as i have opened my heart to some visitors and shared experiences with them as well that will hopefully bring them strength. this week my passion for the gospel has been very evident through scriptures that i share with my casts, as well as conversations that i've had with visitors after shows, especially the promise. we made a change to the end of the show in which after the final number we put our name tags on and sing the primary song "i know my heavenly father lov...

We have truly witnessed a miracle. Elder Dewitt injured his knee a few weeks ago and was out of shows for two weeks because of it. his insurance would not cover an MRI or a surgery here, so there was literally nothing we could do about his injury except send him home. he could barely walk on it and it broke our hearts to see him struggle with his crutches or cane. in the nauvoo pageant we witnessed a scene in which Jane Manning tells about how she walked 500 miles to join the saints in nauvoo and the shoes or she and her party wore out so much so that they had to walk so much of the distance barefoot. their feet were cracked and bleeding. she prayed that the lord would heal their feet and he did. after many days of fasting and praying for elder dewitt, some of the elders prayed that his knee would be healed like jane manning's feet. and i do not have the words to describe the incredible change that we witnessed in him. we were all bawling as we witnessed Elder Dewitt stand up from...

WHAT A WEEK. There were many tears from everyone this week for both bad and good reasons, but I tell you what boy have all the YPMs bonded this week. Elder DeWitt hurt his knee and had to be choreographed out of everything, and since we already had to choreograph Sister Wadsworth out of our outdoor shows because of her illnesses, it's been incredibly difficult because we feel that we are missing two members of our family. We are so grateful they are at least still here with us and we are praying for their strength. It hurts us deeply to watch them sitting out of things, and because people have had to be pulled from other casts to cover for them, everyone's hearts are heavy, although we are proud of everyone for rising up and doing what needs to be done to help out our elder and sister in need. Hello everyone! this week i have really felt an emotional closeness with everyone. i love that i have a distinct unique relationship with every single missionary here, especially stage. i can't believe i used to not know these people that i now can't imagine my life without!! as preparations for the nauvoo and british pageants have increased, we got to see the core cast perform in "our story goes on." it was beautiful and moving in a way that i wasn't expecting! it was all about how we are children of god and are connected to each other through the trials that we experience. it testified strongly of the importance of family. that's one of the biggest things that i've gained here in nauvoo is a testimony of the importance of family and i feel now that there is nothing more important than creating an environment for my future children in which they can thrive and discover god's hand in all things. seeing the core cast perform has given me a desire to per...

Hello from your local celebrity?? being a young performing missionary in nauvoo is seriously amazing and we feel like celebrities. since we first got here, everyone waves to us when we pass or drive by, people know who we are when we forget our nametags or where the wrong one, and people cheer and make hearts at us when we drive by as well. when we drive to trail of hope we have to drive next to a huge crowd of people and it literally feels like we are celebrities arriving at our concert. we even received a package a couple weeks ago full of letters from a youth group to thank us for their experience here in nauvoo. this week i myself felt like a celebrity because especially last night after the promise and sunset i had random children running up to hug me and even waiting to meet me! specifically me! after sunset! sunset doesn't even have lead roles or anything, they just wanted to meet me for me!! and there was also another little girl named Eliza who remembered meeting me earlie...
