The Healing Gift of Tongues

THIS WEEK WAS AMAZING
THE LORD ANSWERS PRAYERS
the highlight of my week was definitely that I MET A LADY FROM JAPAN.
I have been praying that i would be able to meet at least one person
from japan and she happened to come to the promise on a day that i was
performing and she bowed to the elders when she left the theatre, so
elder contreres came right over to me and told me to talk to her. i
was SO HAPPY to meet her and she teared up when she told me that she
didn't expect that someone could make her feel at home here in nauvoo.
she said it's really hard for her because she is the only member in
her family and no one knows about the church in Japan so she can't
really have experiences with church history or really be engulfed in
the church. i told her that's what i love most about the church is
that it's true everywhere you go and always feels like home. she told
me she has a hard time understanding and connecting to the pioneers
and i was able to tell her that she is a pioneer because she is the
first to have the gospel in her family and be able to live it among so
many nonmembers in japan. it was such a special conversation and we
were both crying.
the gift of tongues is real, you guys. first of all, i had a prompting
a couple weeks ago to make sure that i knew how to say things in
japanese like "pioneer" and "sister greenwood" and whatever. then when
i met reiko (the lady i was speaking to in japanese), it was amazing
because even though her english seems to be really good, i literally
could not think in english. when i doubted my japanese abilities and
wanted to default to english, i literally could not think in english
and began speaking things in japanese, and it must have been just what
she needed to hear because she was so emotional. i am so so grateful
for the promptings that the spirit has been giving me lately and i
have been receiving more promptings as i act upon them. i know it's no
coincidence that reiko went on the day that i was performing the
promise. ugh the church is true and i am so so happy that i was able
to be an instrument in the lord's hands to bring comfort to reiko.
the subject of this email comes from a group of children i was playing
with a few days ago. with my afternoon (promise/nauvoo singers) cast,
i kinda am infamous for taking something random and coming up with a
million uses for it. this group of kids had little horseshoes and we
went on for about 10 minutes of all the different ways it can be used,
so then i said "so much to do, so little horseshoe." bahahhahahahahaha
i crack myself up
